Parking at The Great Prop Swap
We have some quick info to give you regarding PARKING. We have alot of people coming for The Great Prop Swap and we want to make sure you know where to park and how to get to the event.
PARKING – SEE MAP BELOW
There is a VERY limited amount of parking directly around the PROP SWAP. I have attached a MAP of possible parking areas located within 600 feet of the event. You may not need to park that far away, but IF YOU DO, here are some options. The areas marked in PINK are all public parking located in strip malls and streets surrounding the area. The PROP SWAP lot is off limits to parking due to all of the foot traffic and being private property. The PROP SWAP is marked in RED and no parking zone is marked in YELLOW.
CAR POOLING
I encourage you to carpool so we can all have access to the event.
BRING A WAGON if you have one so you don’t have to carry stuff very far.
Driving directions to the PROP SWAP
FROM THE NORTH using the 15 Freeway:
Take the I-15 S toward San Diego
Take exit 18 for Rancho Penasquitos Blvd toward Poway Rd
Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Rancho Penasquitos Blvd/Rancho Peñasquitos Blvd
Continue Rancho Penasquitos Blvd/Rancho Peñasquitos Blvd will become Poway Rd
Continue on Poway road for about 2 miles
Turn right at Oak Knoll Road
Continue on Oak Knoll and 12320 Oak Knoll Road is on the left (follow the signs).
FROM THE SOUTH using the 15 Freeway:
Take the I-15 N toward Riverside
Take exit 18 for Poway Road which will curve to the right
Continue on Poway road for about 2 miles
Turn right at Oak Knoll Road
Continue on Oak Knoll and 12320 Oak Knoll Road is on the left (follow the signs).
What You Need to Know
The Great Prop Swap will take place Saturday, June 7th 2025. The primary convention venue, 12320 Oak Knoll Road, is where ticketing, photo ops, food truck, and the vendors will be located.
All official events and activities will take place from 9am-5pm (on Saturday). See the Schedule page for specific venue hours and other details.
Ticketing & Pass Pick-Up
You may purchase tickets at the front entrance the day of the event.
What to Bring
Lots of cash! Not all vendors and celebrity guests accept credit cards, so plan to bring plenty of cash.
No outside food or drinks will be allowed inside the Event. NO ALCOHOL. Food vendors will be located in the parking area. Please support these businesses.

What is The Great Prop Swap?
The Great Prop Swap, is a movie prop, thing makers, costuming, and collectibles event created organized by Trooperbay to hyper focus on the movie prop replica and costuming communities. This purpose of this event is to promote the gathering of movie prop makers, rare collectors and costumers in a venue that is entertaining and fun. We also support regular Comic-Con activities like trading cards, statues, comics, games, and so much more.

Are Costumes or Cosplay Promoted?
YES – We would love to see your newest, and best costumes. At the moment there are no direct incentives such as a costume contest, but you can still enjoy the event in costume and pose for some amazing photo’s at our bacdrop or with attendees! Replica weapons are OK – but will be checked at the door by security.
Can I volunteer?
YES – Volunteers get a volunteer shirt and free access to the show in its entirety. To inquire about volunteer opportunities click here.
What are the exclusives for the event?
The Great Prop Swap will host tons of the most awesome vendor offered exclusives and collectors items in San Diego. We will also have “The Great Prop Swap” exclusives available for purchase at the event merchandise.
When and where is The Great Prop Swap event?
The event is set at 12320 Oak Knoll Road. The 2025 event is set for Saturday, June 7th.
What is Trooperbay and how is it related to The Great Prop Swap?
Trooperbay is your source for costuming supplies, prop replicas, collectibles and novelties! The Great Prop Swap was originally just a “yard sale” where heavily discounted items were offered for purchase. We noticed that others wanted to be involved in the “yard sale” as well so in 2023 we offered to host an event and over 25 vendors showed up. Free tickers were offered for attendees and over 500 people showed up to shop the event! After the incredible response we decided to make an official event. This year will be the 2nd Annual Great Prop Swap!
